What We Do:
CoreQC is a FIRM believer that the QUALITY of the CORE is the mandate of the overall coring project. The value of any core analysis program is only as good as the quality of the core being used in those tests. The quality of the core is the end result of the tools and procedures used to cut the core, the manner in which the core was preserved and/or stabilized at well site and how it was transported from well site to the laboratory. Each rock type has it’s own characteristics which makes each coring project unique. There is no ‘standard’ or ‘common’ procedure that can be transferred from one project directly to another. In 42+ years of coring, I have never seen two projects that were identical. I am always learning something new!
The SERVICES that CoreQC offers to help you build, design and implement a successful Coring Program include:
- Education and Instruction on Coring Tools, Core Handling Procedures and Routine Core Analysis option.
- Design and review Coring Protocols which describe each part of a coring project, including objectives, core point determination, coring fluids, coring tools, coring parameters, core handling procedures (with and without preservation). NOTE: All core should be stabilized for transport.
- Reviewing intended core analysis requirement for both Routine Core Analysis (RCAL), Special Core Analysis (SCAL), Geomechanical testing and onsite testing capabilities.
- Reviewing and evaluating technical specifications and bid proposals from Coring Vendors, Core Handling Vendors and Core Analysis companies.
- Provide onsite QC support for the project to insure that the Industry Best Practices and specific company Best Practices are followed and implemented. We have been involved in over 100 coring programs throughout the world and have a better than 95% recovery rate and “some of the best core that we have ever seen” (core analysis lab remark).
